Providing your family with whole grain goodness and long term food storage.

This website is lovingly dedicated to my mother who has taught me so much. I will be forever grateful to her for her constant example and her tireless effort in behalf of those of us blessed enough to be called her family.

Family Manual
Cook Stoves: Solar cooking is my new pet project, you can cook everything in those ovens and they even pasturize water killing many harmful microbes. You may also want to consider one of the many varieties of cookstoves that run on propane. Pssst . . . Make sure you have propane.

First Aid Kit: You will never know how valuable a good first aid kit is until you need it. I know this from experience . . .

Flashlights and Light Sticks: One for each family member and plenty of batteries. Also consider light sticks for the kids, they love them and they are cheap.

Games: Not everything about preparedness has to be serious! Games and fun activities are invaluable to keep minds occupied and spirits lifted in the event of a disaster. During Hurricaine Ike my family played the same card game for hours...I was amazed!

Hand Kitchen Tools: Plan to prepare your food without electricity. Make sure you have manual can openers, two in case one breaks, and a manual egg beater.  The more manual tools you have the happier your stomach will be.

Hygiene Products: You better believe that I am not living without certain items. With four women in the house I consider feminine hygiene a matter of survival! Also consider toilet paper, shampoo, toothpate and brushes, chapstick, deodorant, etc. Think of everything you use on a regular basis, prioritize them and start stocking up!

Oil Lamps, Oil and Wicks: I was just shopping for these the other day and what I found was rather flimsy. I plan to invest in something more substantial. My family is depending on it. Whatever model you decide on, make sure you store as much fuel as possible and even more wicks!

Prescription Medication: Check with your physician about having at least three months of your personal prescription on hand.
